A better pill bottle
The medication process is a daily ritual that should transcend the orange prescription bottle. This modular bottle system gives agency back to patients to create a personal, customizable, and colorful system to interact with. With hand turned wooden lids and 3D printed bottles, prescription bottles fit seamlessly into each case and nest together. Kickstarter coming soon.
Design Process
I investigated how the visual and physical language of prescription packaging impacts patient behavior and emotional response. Through hundreds of hours of interviews and surveys with patients, I uncovered deep-seated associations—often negative or anxiety-inducing—with the ubiquitous orange prescription bottle. Guided by these insights, I went through hundreds of iterations of physical prototypes to re-imagine the form, material, and interaction of medication packaging. The result was a redesigned, patient-centered system featuring nesting geometries and carefully chosen materials to promote ease of use, emotional comfort, and dignity in daily medication routines.
